The YMCA of Southwest Nova Scotia is thrilled to announce the official opening of the Liverpool YMCA Childcare Centre in Liverpool, Nova Scotia; centrally located in the Town of Liverpool at 108 College Street.

As the largest non-profit childcare provider in Nova Scotia, the YMCA is so pleased to continue-on with the great work Queen’s Daycare has been providing for so many years.

“We cannot wait to now become a part of your lives. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the dedicated Queens Daycare Board of Directors for all they have done over the years and for allowing us the privilege to embark upon this new journey with all of you,” says Chief Executive Officer, Yvonne Smith.

“The YMCA of Southwest NS is committed to providing high-quality childcare services, which has always been at the forefront of our mission. In line with this commitment, our childcare services in the Queen County community will continue to be operated as a not-for-profit organization.”

What to expect from our not-for-profit childcare services:

  1. Affordability: Our primary goal is to make quality childcare accessible to all families in the community. By operating on a not-for-profit basis, we aim to keep costs reasonable, ensuring families from all walks of life can benefit from our services. If, at any time, you are experiencing financial strain, please reach out.
  2. Community Focus: As an integral part of your community, we will actively engage with parents, guardians, and local organizations to create a supportive and nurturing environment for your children. Community involvement is crucial to success.
  3. Quality Care: Our commitment to providing excellent childcare remains unwavering. We will continue to prioritize the safety, education, and well-being of every child entrusted to our care. Our experienced and dedicated staff members are excited to meet and nurture your children. As an integral part of all licensed YMCA early learning childcare across Canada since 2007, YMCA Playing to Learn™ aligns with all provincial early learning frameworks adopted to date and is based on research and evidence that shows play is the most effective way that children learn and gain new skills. https://www.ymca.ca/what-we-offer/child-care/early-learning-and-care
  4. Transparency: As a not-for-profit organization, transparency is key. We will keep you informed about our financial structure, budget allocations, and any community initiatives we undertake. Your input and feedback are invaluable to us as we work together to create a positive and inclusive childcare experience. We would like to thank you for welcoming us into the community and are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your child’s early years. We are excited to build lasting relationships with each of you, and providing a warm, enriching, and affordable childcare experience.
